Caring for your Dentures
The Denture Care Center provides Dentures your way, in less than a day, but it's important for you to take proper care of your new smile, too. Be sure to follow these steps to make sure your smile remains clean and beautiful for years to come!
Handle dentures with care. Try your very best to avoid dropping your dentures — stand over a towel or fill the sink with water when handling them.
Brush and rinse dentures daily. Brushing not only removes plaque and bacteria from your dentures, but it also prevents stains from forming on your dentures. Look for a soft-bristled brush that is designed for cleaning dentures and brush them every morning and evening, just like you would natural teeth. Rinse dentures after every meal.
Clean with a denture cleaner. Many people don't realize that traditional toothpastes may be too abrasive for dentures. Simply use soap and water or a denture cleaner.
Care for your dentures when they aren't in your mouth. Placing dentures in a denture cleanser soaking solution or in cool water helps to keep them moist so that they will retain their shape. However, hot water can cause them to warp, and some dentures may have metal components that may rust in water. Talk to your dentist for specific instructions on storing your dentures when not in use.
